Five Sentence Fiction – Moon!

Dr. Rathod and Dr. Kumar could literally give people another chance to live!

They created a technology that allowed them to weave artificial memories, such that a patient could request attempts to alter their mind and wake up with memories of things that did not actually happen.

However, since these new memories are permanent, the conflict between them and the existing authentic memories clash in such a way that it ceases the person’s ability to properly function.

Thus, the operation could only be done to people on their deathbeds, to fulfill what they wish they had done with their lives… but did not.

With each step back in time, a new fragment of Salonee’s curious past is revealed. And as the two doctors piece together the puzzled events that spanned a life time of a last stage Cancer patient, Salonee, they find out her dying wish ~ to go to the moon, since she always wanted to be an astronaut.

This post is written for 5 sentence fiction, the prompt being 'MOON'.

  1. An interesting futuristic plot. And with one way mars already in place perhaps this would not be far!
