The Longest Sleep

She took his hand,
Held it against her chest,
Crying her heart out.

Cursing the uninvited guest,
Her hairless head gleamed,
He stroked her back in hope,
Praying to turn back time.

She saw herself - defeated,
A day and she'll be gone,
She told him - "Don't mourn,
Celebrate my life, instead!"

"A minute," she said,
Only to appear and steal his breath away,
Dressed like a star in her wedding lehenga,
She fell asleep in his arms,
That was her longest sleep.
